Cats’ Home in Tram.—Cats are to be thn only passengers housed in one of Invercargill’s discarded tram-cars when the owner takes delivery in a few weeks’ time. The Invercargill Veterinary Services Organisation has bought the tram from the City Council for use as a cattery—a home for eats when their owners go on holidays. The tram will be divided into four compartments and will resemble a sectioned glasshouse where the eats (Will He able to settle down in privacy with their boxes and cushions in their own sleeping quarters. The organisation also hoards do<»s. but thev demand much less luxury. Their dogs’ life consists of sft high kennels all under the same roqf—and no cushions.— (PA.)
