Massey had been endorsed as the National Party candidate for Franklin, all except one of the sitting National Party members in the Auckland division have now bfeen confirmed. The exception is Mr S. W. Smith (Hobson), whose candidature is expected to be endorsed at a meeting this week. From Wanganui it is reported that Mr E. V. O’Keefe, a cashier in the

Wanganui City Council’s gas office, was selected from two nominations to-night as the National Party candidate’to contest the Wanganui electorate against the sitting member, Mr J. B. Cotterill. Mr O'Keefe stood as the National Party candidate at the last General Election, and was defeated by 1074 votes. _
