WAR-TIME WOOL STOCKS
BRITISH GOVERNMENT’S PROFIT
(New Zealand Press Association) LONDON, July 3. The British Government made a profit of £62,870,432 sterling on the accumulated war-time stocks of Commonwealth wool sold at auctions between 1949 and June, 1950, Mr Hervey Rhodes, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade, said to-day. Mr Rhodes added that the sale by auction of wool grown in Britain and bought by the Government between 1945 and 1949 resulted in a profit of £416,636 sterling.
