Writing Frames
Using a writing frame invented by himself, an almost completely blind New Plymouth man is busily sending details of the device to all parts of New Zealand. Since publicity wai given to his invention. Mr J. G. Rutherford. brother of the late Lord Rutherford, has been inundated with inquiries and has received the assurance of the Prime Minister. Mr Holland. that the supply of the frames to the blind community is being in-
vestigated. “I am glad to say that I have received a favourable report from my colleague, the Minister of Education. Mr Algie. on the supply of youo writing frames to members of the blind community,” savs Mr Holland in a letter received by Mr Rltherford. “He assures me that the New Zealand Institute for the Blind his already distributed some 150 writing frames to blind peoole and that the Pearson Fund is available ta meet as far as possible your suggestions.’’
