NOVEL EFFORTS THIS WEEK
Novel methods to raise money are being used this week by members of the Student Christian Movement at Canterbury University College. A coffee evening was held yesterday at Helen Connon Hall and an address was given by Professor J. C. Garrett. will be “waffle day" at the college, with waffles on sale at the Students’ Union building. A square dance will be held on Thursday. Car washing will be undertaken on Friday and motorists have been invited to bring their vehicles to the corner of Rolleston avenue and Cashel street. The week will end with a service at 4 p.m. next Sunday in the Christ’s College chapel. The World Student Christian Federation will benefit by the week’s activities. This organisation is doing much to bring students together internationally for cultural and religious discussions. An allied body, the International Student Service, will also be helped in bringing assistance to students in need in Eurone and Asia.
