SUMNER SILVER BAND
NEW INSTRUMENTS PRESENTED A concert given by the Woolston Brass Band in the Sumner Town Hall last evening to help raise funds to pay for the new instruments for the Sumner Silver Band was attended by a large crowd. The concert was extremely successful, enough money being received to pay the balance owing on the instruments, which arrived in New Zealand recently. J The Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane. M.P.) nresehted the instruments to the band and congratulated the band on its remarkable progress. . The chairman <Mr C. G. Burgess] outlined the progress of the band since it was rormed 14 months ago. and thanked the public for its generous support. >2, After thq band had been presented with the instruments It played two items.
