THE SYDNEY HARBOUR FERRIES are to be taken over by the New South Wales Government because of the decision of the ferry company to terminate all services on June 30. This photograph shows a ferry approaching the wharf at Manly. The State Premier (Mr J. McGirr) said the Government was obliged to preserve the services, the loss of which would cause great inconvenience to the travelling public and additional traffic congestion.
