WON BY A NOSE.-The camera caught the two horses "in step" as they flashed past the winning post in the Chatmos Hack Handicap at Ashburton on Saturday. Symbolic (No. 5) was beaten by Greetings by a nose, with Manuscript third. Greetings was ridden by C. T. Wilson and Symbolic by D. J. Thistoll.
