COMPETITIONS

ANNUAL FESTIVAL OPENED

The annual festival of the Christchurch Competitions Society was opened in the Civic Theatre by the Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P.) on Saturday evening. The president (Mr G. W. Gale) introduced the judges and presented Mr D. G. Dixon with the gold life member badge. More than 4000 entries have been received, and on Saturday four halls were in use.

The following were the results, competitors coming from Christchurch unless otherwise stated:—
