LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

FIRST PROVINCIAL COMMITTEE

The League of Mothers in Canterbury took a further step forward with the meeting of the first provincial committee, when representatives from all local branches, as well as Timaru, were welcomed by the president (Mrs W. Grant). “In a small way,’’ said Mrs Grant, “this is quite an historic occasion, for while Auckland, Wellington, and Otago are this year celebrating a quarter of a century of League of Mothers, we in Canterbury are only now holding our first provincial committee, and have some really hard work ahead of us.” The provincial secretary (Mrs J. Davidson) explained the workings of the provincial committee, and other reports were given by all executive officers. Plans for further organising were also discussed. A telegram of good wish® was read from the honorary Dominion organiser (Mrs Leslie Wall).
