WORK IN RAIN AT LYTTELTON

EIGHT SHIPS AGAIN MANNED

An occasional light drizzle did not deter servicemen from working on the waterfront at Lyttelton yesterday, and again eight ships were worked. The Port Lincoln completed discharge of her Lyttelton cargo and sailed in the afternoon for Dunedin. The Kaimanawa sailed last night. The Lochybank and the Willomee are to sail to-day for Dunedin and Nelson respectively.

An expected arrival at Lyttelton today is the small coastal vessel Marlyn, with general cargo from Wellington. The Qalm was ary-docked yesterday for cleaning and painting, and is to load 1000 tons of flour this week for Wellington.

Expected arrivals during the next few days are the Puriri, from Auckr land, bv way of Nelson, with 600 tons ol sugar, the Hotunui from Tauranga, the Kopara from Gisborne, and the Kawatiri from Dunedin, with Australian cargo for discharge. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rangitane is to arrive on Sunday from London, by way of Wellington, to begin discharge.
