TERRORISM IN MALAYA

(Rec. 7 p.m.) SINGAPORE, April 15. Six Malay constables were killed and seven were wounded yesterday when terrorists ambushed a police van in the Jitra district of North Kedah, it was officially reported to-day. The guerrillas are believed to have suffered five casualties in the engagement.

During the early hours of to-day a European assistant inspector of mines was seriously wounded in the Kuala Kubu area of Selangor when he failed to halt when challenged at an army checkpoint on his way to his quarters. Two women terrorists, one 20 years old, were reported to have been shot dead, one in Negri Sembilan and the other in Johore. In another engagement in Johore one Gurkha soldier was killed and a British officer and another Gurkha soldier were wounded.
