CHRISTCHURCH PONY CLUB
The Christchurch Pony Club will support proposed legislation which will make it an offence to dock or “nick” the tails of horses. This was decided at the annual meeting of the club, when it was reported that similar legislation had recently been enacted in England. The chairman reported that the club’s balance-sheet showed a successful financial year, and that untiring work by the instructors had greatly improved the riding of club members. It was decided to hold a parents’ day soon. • • The following officers were elected: president, Major G. F. Hutton; district commissioner, Mr D. M. Lamb; secretary, Mrs D. M. Csowther; treasurer, Mr J. N. Macfarlane; committee, Messrs C. L. Huston, J. Johns, J. H. Sluis, and J. Vincent. Mesdames Ct L. Austin and J. East, and Misses M. Harris and H. Rich. Mr T. W. Stephen was elected a life member of the club.
