Miss Houston will also appear in “Don Giovanni” on March 31 and will remain with the Sadler’s Wells Opera until the end of the season, in midJuly. The “Daily Telegraph” said of Miss Houston’s singing: “She proved a valuable acquisition. She is not an immature singer, but possesses an abundant voice, well able to respond to Verdi’s great demands." “The Times” said: “She will be a great acquisition of strength.” i Miss Houston played the part of ‘Amelia opposite the Australian bass, j Arnold Mattei'S, who is playing the title part.
