SMALL BABIES
Sir,—l have read with interest the accounts of the smallest baby born in New Zealand. In 1910 my doctor told me of a baby he had brought into the world at Whangarei which weighed 11b. It balanced the scales with a pound of butter. I must say I did not believe him. but some years after 1 had a help who told me her baby when born balanced the scales with a Sound of butter, and if I did not beeve it I could ask her doctor—who happened to be my doctor. I later saw the girl, She weighed about 11 stone and had two chfldren.—Yours, etc. '' ' j.'-/ B. M. CRANE. February 38, 1981.
