GASWORKS NUISANCE

Sir,—Would the City Council kindly inform the residents of Christchurch South as to what progress has been made to have the nuisance caused <jy fumes, etc., from the gasworks on Moorhouse avenue abated. It is now about eight months since a petition was signed by 200 residents living in the vicinity and presented to the City Council, and there has been no improvement in the fumes and grit in the atmosphere.—Yours, etc., _ , RESIDENT. October 24, 1950. [The question was receiving further consideration, said the Town Clerk (Mr H. S. Feast) when this letter was referred to him.]
