LONDON BUTCHERS’ GUILD
SCROLL OF HONOUR TO BE PRESENTED
Greetings and congratulations on the occasion of the centennial have been received by the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association from the Worshipful Company of Butchers, London.
In a letter to the secretary (Mr M. E. Lyons) the company stated that the masters, wardens and court of assistants of the ancient craft guild of butchers in the city of London would like to place on record their feelings towards the association and their appreciation of the association’s achievements, particularly in the development of Canterbury lamb.
As a mark of respect the company offered the association a gift of a scroll of honour, and this will be presented this afternoon by a past master (Mr J. B. Swain), who is visiting New Zealand. For the occasion Mr Swam will wear his livery, which has been sent out to New Zealand from London at his request.
