True Course Beats Niaranga

As expected True Course, which has proved herself the outstanding filly in Australia, easily won the Oaks from Weka and Niaranga. She is trained by F. W. Hoysted for Mr A. R. Many racegoers from Sydney expected the Nizami filly, Niaranga, to test True Course over the mile and a half, and there was strong support for her. She. however, never appeared likely to defeat the favourite. She was always well placed and was with True Course entering the straight. Once Williamson called on True Course, she bounded away and won in effortless style. Niaranga did not finish as well as expected, and Weka beat her for second place. i Betting: 9/4 on.
