MARUIA SPRINGS HOSTEL

Sir—lt was with some interest that I read in a recent issue a complaint about the Maruia Springs chateau A few nights ago I arrived, with five other travellers, quite unexpected, at, tne hostel, and was very hospitably received. No one would’suggest tha* the chateau should be given a “five star” rating; but bearing in mind its isolation, I feel that it is a great credit to those who are responsible for it. The meals were plain, but well prepared, and, to those who complain I would suggest that there are a great many citv hotels with everv convenience where one would not fare as well.—Yours, etc.. CREDIT WHERE DUE. - November 3, 1950.
