MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT AT HORORATA
The Malvern Miniature Rifle Association recently held its annual championship shoot on the Hororata Miniature Rifle Club’s range at the racecourse. Hororata. Members from the seven clubs in the association participated and entries reached a new record total, with 119 shooters. Results were as follows: A Grade Individual Championship.—K. Wickens (Haldon). 80.2. 1; W. Oakley (Haldon), 79.7, 2; J. Whitham (West Melton), 79.6, 3; F. Wright (Hororata). 79.6, 4; E. Fleming (Hororata), 79.5. 5. A Grade Aggregate Championship.—K. At a supper gathering held at the completion of the day’s shooting the association’s president (Mr E. Fleming) thanked all officials for their efforts in making the shoot a successful one. Major prizes won during the day were then presented.
Club Formed at Hororata .At a meeting Called recently to discuss the formation of a new rifle club in the Hororata district, it was decided to form the Selwyn Outdoor Rifle Club, with the object of holding weekly outdoor target snooting with miniature and sporting .22 rifles during the summer months. The following officers were elected:— W. Oakley; vice-president, Mr M. Rush: secretary and treasurer. Mr E. T. Shilton; assistant secretary, Mrs W Oakley; club captain, Mrs J.
