OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, September 7. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours after the time of issue, is:— Situation: an anti-cyclone is centred north of New Zealand and a deep depression is centred south-west of New Zealand. Forecast: moderate to strong north-wert winds; rain in the western high country: elsewhere weather fair to cloudy, with mild or warm day temperatures. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the Bouth Island is as follows: Fresh west or north-west winds; weather dull and unsettled, with drizzle or rain. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was fine and warm, the maximum temperature being 68.7 degrees. At midnight the sky was clear, and there was a light wind from the north-north-west. The temperature was 49.1 degrees. The barometer, at 29.935 inches (1013.7 millibars), was steady.
