SALEYARDS LUNCHEON
Sir, —I have known Addington yards for over 40 years, and can only repeat that I consider it the roughest meal that I have ever had at any saleyards
I have attended in New Zealand. Granted, there was an overdue improvement yesterday, as one might expect after my letter. I would ask Mr Hammond is it a fair deal for a farmer making an early start in the morning and travelling a distance, to follow the sale all day, returning home late at night if he has to put up with a rough meal, as we have had to do for years. The men un- | trucking and yarding sheep all day can do with a square meal. Are the dining rooms at ’the saleyards there iust for the caterers to grab, or for the convenience of the patrons of Addington yards?—Yours. e + c.. HUNGRY COCKY. September 8, 1950.
