THE MAYORALTY
Sir, —“A Worker” has a very exalted opinion of himself. During this correspondence he has posed as a prophet and now declares himself the future political ringside champion. He .thinks his name is wanted in a huge plot of victimisation by the wicked LabourSocialists. He denies in his letter of September 4 that he stated that my letters were doing an injury to Labour. On August 29 he said that another letter or two of mine would assure the defeat of Labour. On August 31 he said he was sorry I had not taken his advice to discontine, as it was detrimental to Labour’s cause. It is quite apparent that the correspondent does not understand the meaning of the stuff he writes. Instead of his meaningless drivel, why does he not try to justify the actions of the party he sympathises with—evidently not Labour. —Yours, etc., E. PARLANE. September 7, 1950.
