HIDES, PELTS, TALLOW
Export Parity To Be Allowed PRICE CONTROL OFF SOAP (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, August 30. A pay out on hides, pelts, offals, and tallow in accordance with export parity is to be allowed by the Government as from October 1. The Minister of Marketing (Mr K. J. Hoiyoake), who announced the Government's decision to-day, said that it was felt that the time had arrived when some steps should be taken to return the meat industry to a normal basis of trading. The present proposals were the first move in that direction. Mr Hoiyoake said that the Government had made its decision after negotiations with representatives of Federated Farmers and the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. For some years the pay out in New, Zealand on hides, pelts, offals, and tallow had been controlled.
