Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours after the time of issue, is:— Situation: a shallow depression is centred west of Cook Strait, and pressures are high to the south of New Zealand. Forecast: moderate east to winds; weather overcast, with occasional rain, but slowly improving; temperatures cald. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is as follows: Light to moderate variable winds; weather fair to cloudy, with a few isolated showers in the north at first; temperatures cool. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was wet. and the maximum temperature waa ; 60 degrees.. At midnight, the heavy rain that began early in the evening had eased, and there was a light wind from the south-west. The temperature was 42.3 degrees.
