MIDDLESEX GAME DRAWN

CHRISTIANI’S CENTURY FOR WEST INDIES (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, August 29. Christian! and Johnson, in an entertaining record ninth Wicket stand of 96 at Lord’s to-day, put West Indies in a position to pass the Middlesex first innings total of 311. The partnership ended when Johnsen skied a catch to mid-off. Christiani made his third century ?f the tour, and reached his 1000 run! r or the season. The Middlesex batting was dull and colourless. The batsmen refused to take risks. When Middlesex declared at four for 209, West Indies needed 178 runt with 93 minutes in which to make them.
