PILOT KILLED WHEN JET PLANE CRASHES

SYDNEY, August 29. The first fatal jet aeroplane crash in Australia occurred when a Vampire fighteb power-dived at more than uUO miles an hour into the Wallaroo State Forest, just north of Newcastle. The pilot, whose name has been -withheld, was killed instantly. The aeroplane, which was based at Williamtown, a few miles away, had been performing aerobatics over the forest. It buried itself six feet in the hard ground. The wreckage has been placed under a guard.
