big machine tool ORDER

Mr J. R. Greenwood, chairman and managing director of Craven Brothers, Ltd., Stockport, Cheshire, confirmed last night a statement made by Mr Churchill during his broadcast on Saturday night, that his firm had asked the Government whether it should carry on with contracts for machine tools for Russia. “TJ.e first shipments of a £1,000,000 machine-tool order for Russia and i'oiand is due to leave on September M Mr Greenwood said. “I think the export licence for these wols should be temporarily withdrawn, w e coud sell them quite easily to BritlSa buyers. It is up to Mr Attlee.” Mr Greenwood said that his firm had Deen doing business with Russia for 20 years.
