MAIN SOUTH ROAD

Sir, —I. agree with the assistantengineer about there not being enough room for motor vehicles. The whole trouble is that the tram tracks are in the wrong place. I noticed that in the traffic check at Church corner between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., 300 cyclists passed that point from the south. It is not a cycle track that is required on the south side, but 3 feet of tar-sealing alongside the existing macadam from Sockburn to Church corner.—Yours, etc., A STITCH IN TIME. August 28, 1950.
