CHRISTCHURCH LADIES’ CLUB
ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
Further rounds of the Christchurch Ladies' Club’s championship tournament were played yesterday. Earlier rounds were played on Tuesday. The final of the championship will be played over 36 holes to-day between Misses H. Buchanan and M. Vivian. The semifinals of the Junior Challenge Cup (on handicaps) will be played tnis morning and the final over 18 holes this afternoon Results are as follows: Club Championship Third round.—Mrs J. Andrewes beat Miss B. White-Parsons, 4 and 3; Miss H. Buchanan beat Miss K. Rutherford, 1 up: Miss E.‘»Nutt beat Mrs C. J. Ward, 2 and 1; Miss M. Vivian beat Mrs E. H. Watkins, 3 and 2. Semi-final.—Miss H. Buchanan beat Mrs J. Andrewes, 1 up; Miss M. Vivian beat Miss E. Nutt, 2 and 1. Junior Challenge Cup Third round.—Mrs M. Stedman beat Mrs G. Johnson, 7 and 5; Mrs A. R. L'uthie beat Miss Cameron Smith, 5 and 3; Mrs G. L. Almond beat Mrs P. H. N. Freeth, 2 up; Miss A. Murray beat Mrs G. Hunter, 5 and 4; Miss D. Rutherford beat Mrs K. Cooper, 3 and 2; Mrs J. Kennie beat Mrs G. Kingscote, 1 up; Mrs J. H. Stringer beat Mrs G. Turrell, 5 and 4; Mrs E. C. Vaughan beat Mrs J. Overcon, 5 and 3. Fourth round.—Mrs A. R. Duthie beal Mrs M. Stedman, 4 and 3; Miss A. Murray beat Mrs G. L. Almond, 5 and 3; Mrs E. C. Vaughan beat Mrs J. H. Stringer, 6* and 5. A stroke handicap resulted as follows: Silver division.—Miss M. Donaldson, 89, 12—77; Miss White-Parsons. 89, 16—79; Miss K. Rutherford, 88, 7—Bl. Bronze division.—Mrs P. O’Shea, 103, 27—76; Mrs F. E. Sundstrum, 103, 24 79. RAWHITI LADIES’ CLUB A bisque bogey match was played yesterday by the RaWhiti Ladies’ Golf Club. Results.—Mrs W. Norman, 3 up; Mrs D. Millard, 1 up; Mrs S. Watson, all square. TAI TAPU LADIES’ CLUB The following are the results of an inter-club match played yesterday at Tai Tapu between the Kaiapoi ancr Tai Tapu Ladies’ Golf Clubs (Tai Tapu names first):— Singles.—Mrs N. R. Withell beat Mrs Laski, Mrs N. Garrard beat Mrs Boon, Mrs D. Hamilton beat Mrs Lightfoot, Mrs E. J. McNeill beat Mrs Fahey. Mrs E. Thompson beat Mrs Houlden, Miss B. Wood beat Mrs Fitzgerald. Canadian Foursomes.—Mrs Witheil and Mrs Garrard beat Mrs Laski and Mrs Boon, Mrs Hamilton and Mrs McNeill beat Mrs Lightfoot and Mrs Fahey, Mrs Thompson and Mrs Carter beat Mrs Houlden and Mrs Fitzgerald. The semi finals of the Smith rose bowl played recently resulted:—Mrs C. Anderson beat Mrs E. J. McNeill, 3 and 2; MrS D. SCott beat Mrs D. Hamilton, 5 and 4.
