ABORTION CASE

WOMAN FOUND GUILTY AT SECOND TRIAL (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 23. After a retirement of more than five hours, a jury in the Supreme Court to-day found Eliza Anderson, aged 62, a domestic, guilty of the unlawful use of an instrument, with intent to procure a miscarriage. it was Anderson's second trial. At the first trial, the jury failed to agree. For the defence, Mr A. J. Mazengarb applied to the Court to have the admissibility of certain evidence decided by the Court of Appeal. Mr Justice Fair deferred an application for bail on medical grounds until 10.30 a.m. to-morrow.
