The Wellington board had meetings m the evenings, but it did not have many country members, said Mr Lawn. He was not sure that the clerical work could be dene so expeditiously if meetings took place in the evenings. He thought it was a matter for a new board.
He was not asking for a decision, but aS a ,j ejection was approaching he would like members to consider his proposal, said Mr Brownlee. He added that the City Council met in the evenings and held committee meetings in the late afternoon. [The board meets at 10.30 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month, and meetings seldom conclude before 1 p.m. All ordinary committee meetings are also held during day time.]
