marines mobilising RESERVES 2,000,000 STRENGTH IN ALL SERVICES SOON WASHINGTON, August 7. The United States Marine Corps today announced that it will mobilise its volunteer reserve force of 80.000 men. A total of 50.000 men will be called tor active duty by October 31. and others later. Some air reserve units of the Marine Corps were mobilised about three weeks ago. total strength will be brought to ™ en b y the latest call-up and toe Marines’ air force will be increased w 16 squadrons. i «S^? arines are part an estimated * WO.OOO men expected to be called up all services within the next few ®o?ths. The total strength of the services will then be more than 2,000,000 men.
