VICEREGAL (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. August 8. The Governor-General (Sir Bernard Frey berg) visited Papakura Military Camp to-day, returning to Wellington by air this evening. Professor T. D. J. Leech, Professor of Engineering at Auckland University College, has resigned to take a position with the Australian Snowy River Hydro-electric Authority, Victoria, Professor Leech is regarded as. one of the foremost engineering authorities in the Dominion.—(P.A.) Lieutenant-Colonel G. P. Cade. Director of Artillery at Army Headcuarters, Wellington, arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning. He will inspect artillery trainees at Burnham, who are at present holding a live shell practice at Mount Torlesse and Birdlings Flat. Captain C. M. H. Gibson (New Zealand Regiment), Captain W. H. Dyson (Royal New Zealand Signal Corps), end Lieutenant F. A. Bishon (Royal New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps) have been selected from Southern Military District to attend a course of land-air warfare training to be held at Williamtown, Melbourne. Australia. They will leave Christchurch on August 15 and will leave for Australia from Whenuapai bv air on August 18. Captain R. G. F. Kingscote, a territorial officer, has been selected to at- | tend a similar course in October. A visitor to New Zealand early next year will be Dr. Henry Smith Teiper. of America, one of the five associate general secretaries of the World Council of Churches. The Rev. I. G. Borrie. of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Timaru, will 'leave New Zealand to-morrow for three I months’ holiday in Australia.
