MORE GOODS CARRIED BY AIRCRAFT
SERVICE BETWEEN BLENHEIM AND PARAPARAUMU , (New Zealand Press Association) BLENHEIM, July 7. Between to-day and the end of next week at least 62 return flights will be made on the Woodbourne-Parapara-umu Dakota air freight service. This is nearly double the number of runs on the normal schedule. One of the reasons for the increased amount of goods going by air is attributed to the recent water front troubles at Wellington and Lyttelton, but even before they occurred a noticeable upward trend in the amount of air freight offering was apparent. Dakotas have been flying nine return trips a day in recent weeks. Today and on Monday there will be eight return trips. On Tuesday there will be 10, and on each of the three following days there will be 12. Each Dakota carries approximately 76001 b of freight a trip. The cargoes of late have been mainly of a general nature, and have included a large number of complete household removal!.
