GENERAL RATE: As to the whole Boiough of Riccarton a General Rate of fourpence one farthing in the £ (41d) on ihe Unimproved Value. Made under Section 77 and 79 of “The Municipal Corporations Act. 1933,” “The Rating Act, 1925.” and Section 30 of “The Fire Brigades Act, 1926,” for general municipal purposes and to meet contributions payable to the Christchurch Fire Board. STREET LIGHTING: As to the whole Boiough of Riccarton a Street Lighting Rate of decimal three five three five (.3535) of a penny in the £ on the Unimproved Value. Made under Section 89 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” and "The Rating Act, 1925,” for the purpose of lighting the streets of the Borough. WaIER RATE: As to those lands and dwelling-houses in the Borough to which water is supplied, a Water Rate of twopence (2d) in the £ on the Unimproved Value (minimum 10s) as to those lands and dwelling-houses to which water could be but is not supplied, situated within 100 yards of the waterworks, a Rate of one-half (J) of the above-mentioned rate. This Rate will be made under Section 84 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” and "The Rating Act, 1925,” for the purpose of watei' supply. NORTH CANTERBURY HOSPITAL BOARD: As to the whole Borough cf Riccarton, a Rate of one and fifteen-six-teenths pence (1 15-16 d) in the £ on the Unimproved Value. Made under Section 52 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” “and "The Rating Act, 1925.” for the purpose of meeting contributions payable by the Riccarton Borough Council to the North Canterbury Hospital Board. NORTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD: As to the whole Borough of Riccartcn, a Rate of decimal nought six nought (.060) of a penny in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable propel ty appearing on the Valuation Rolls now in forte in the Borough of Riccarton, and classified as Class B of the former Waimakariri River Trust’s classification, in pursuance of the special order isstied by the North Canterbury Catchment Board. The proceeds thereof is for the general purposes of the Board, made under “The Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941,” and its Amendments, in particular Sections 96 and 97 and Amendments thereto, and by virtue the powers vested in the Catchment Board bv Orders-in-Council, dated the 13th day of February, 1947, and the 9th day of October, 1947, and "The Rating Act. 1925.”

NORTH CANTERBURY ' CATCHMENT BOARD: As to the whole Borough of Riccarton. a Rate of decimal one two five (.125) of a penny in the £ on the Unimproved Value of all rateable property appearing in the Valuation Rolls now in force in the Borough of Riccarton. In pursuance of a direction by Special Order from the North Canterbury Catchment Board. Made under “The Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941,” and in particular Sections 96 and 97. and Amendments thereto, and "The Rating Act, 1925.”

CHRISTCHURCH DISTRICT DRAINAGE BOARD: As to the whole Borcugh of Riccarton, a Rate of twenty-nine one hundred and twenty eighths (29/123) of a penny in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property. Made under Section 45 of "The Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907,” and "The Rating Act. 1925,” in pursuance of a direction by special order from the Christchurch Drainage Board. The proceeds are for the general purpose of land and storm water drainage. As ro that portion of the Borough of Riccarton lying within the Drainage District known as the Sewerage Area, a Rate of twenty-one sixty-fourths (21/64) of a penny in the £ on the Capital Value of all rateable property. Made under Section 45 of “The Christchurch District Drainage Act. 1907,” and “The Rating Act, 1925, in pursuance of a direction by special order from the Christchurch Drainage Board. The proceeds thereof are for the purpose of the Board’s maintenance and other charges in respect of sewerage in that area. RICCARTON BUSH CONTRIBUTION: As to the whole Borough of Riccarton, a Rate of decimal two seven three five (.2735) of a penny in the £ on the Unimproved Value of all rateable property appearing in the Valuation Rolls now in force in the Borough of Riccarton, made under “The Rating Act, 1925,” and Section 11 of “The Riccarton Bush Amendment Act, 1947,” for the purpose of meeting contributions payable bv the Rircarton Borough Council to the Riccarton Bush Trustees. CANTERBURY MUSEUM: As to the whole Borough of Riccarton, a Rate of decimal one four four five (.1445) of a penny in the £ on the Unimproved Value a,1 a .rateable property appearing in the valuation Ro Is now in force in the Borough of Riccarton. Made under “The Rating Act, 1925,” and Section 14 of “The Canterbury Museum Trust Board Act, 1947,” for the purpose of meeting contributions payable by the Riccarton Borough Council to the Board. 10 PER CENTUM CHARGE ON THE ABOVE RATES, under Section 76 of “The Rating Act, 1925”: As to the whole of the above Rates, notice is herebv given that a Penal Charge of 10 per cent, will be added to all Rates unpaid at the expiration of six months and fourteen days from the demand thereof, and will be payable and recoverable' accordingly It is also publicly notified -that the whole of the aforementioned rates will be payable at the office of the Riccarton Borough Council, 189 Clarence street, Riccarton, in one sum on the 2nd day of SEPTEMBER, 1950, and that the Valuation Rolls and the Rate Book containing particulars of all the above Rates are open for inspection without fee by all Ratepayers during office hours, which are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily except Saturdays.
