Strong fields arc engaged, and there should be some excellent contests. The doubles totalisator will be operated on the Great Northern Hurdles and the Cornwall Handicap. The course will be heavy after a downpour early this morning and more rain this afternoon. The forecast is for changeable weather, with occasional showers. The defection of Prince Rana enables Earldale to return to the field. Selections are:— 10.40 a.m.—Greenlane Steeplechase: Sandy, Dukeron, The Trader. 11.45 a.m—First Jervois Handicap: Balcedar. Peer Gynt, Tossup. 12.35 p.m.—Great Northern Hurdles: Duke Royal, Paul, Master Arthur. 1.20 p.m.—Penrose Hurdles: Kyrat, Fort Knox, Foxlyn. 2.5 p.m.—Second Jervois Handicap: First division: Cimtore, Tactful Lad, Cimtulla.
