Elusive Monkey

The Wellington Zoo's vagrant baby monkey, loose for more than a fortnight, is expected to be in captivity again before the end of next week. For the last 10 days the six-months-old Indian monkey has been tamed by a Newtown resident. Liberally fed each day, it is gradually becoming more docile, and is being enticed nearer and nearer the house. Next week, it is expected to enter the trap. Keepers, armed with nets, will then arrive from the zoo to capture the animal. So far, the zoo has left it to itself, for fear of frightening it away from food and shelter.
