ALLEGED RESISTANCE MOVEMENT WESTERNERS SAID TO BE INVOLVED (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) PRAGUE, May 31. The biggest spy trial yet held behind the Iron Curtain opened to-day when 13 Czechs, including three women,, were before the court accused of being the ringleaders in a nationwide underground resistance, movement. The court looked like an 'armoury, the exhibits including 20 rifles and shotguns, 13 pistols and revolvers, one or two swords, some daggers, cartridges. a German radio transmitter, and German war-time flares. The chief accused, grey-haired Mrs Milada Horakova. a former member of Parliament, made the usual “confession” that she- sought to overthrow the Communist regime. Diolomats of seven Western nations, including Britain, are said to have been involved in the plot. A brother of the late president, Dr. Benes, was also named.
