STOCK EXCHANGES FIRM TONE Prices of several stocks dealt in on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday showed a hardening tendency, and there were no losses. Little interest was displayed in Government securities and the few quotations in the New Zealand mining section were wide. A revival of interest in Kaitangata coal was again shown, further sales being made at the recently enhanced figure of 27s 6d, and more were on offer at 27s 9d. Banks, insurances, frozen meats, loans, and woollens, and leading industrials were all in firm demand. DOMINION TRANSACTIONS CHRISTCHURCH Sales on ’Change
