Gluts Reported In Many Countries

(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON. May 31. The food reporter of the “Daily Express” says Ihat there is a world glut of eggs. Huge stocks, he says, are piling up in cold stores. Egg driers are working to capacity and prices have started an all-round fall.
The United States Government has more than 760,000.000 eggs in stock—more than double the ligui’e of a year ago—and in Britain egg production has reached its highest point for more than 10 years.
Similar surpluses are reported in other world stocks of foodstuffs. It was reported to the annual conference of the
International Federation of Agricultural Producers that “farmers’ surpluses had already reached the burdensome stage in some countries and threatened to in others.”
