EMPIRE CONFERENCE AT QUEBEC
LONDON. May 30. Freedom of the press will be the I principal theme of the Imperial Press i Conference at Quebec next week. The council of the Empire Press Union ' has for the first time invffcd some; leading United States newspaper and ] periodical pub ishers to take part ini the debate on press freedom.' The council's report to the fortieth annual meeting in London this month said: “It mav be that from these joint 1 sessions there will emerge an agreed ■ declaration of the principles of free- ! dom of the press by th° English lan- ; guage press of the world.” War-time censorship methods and ' the effects of public relations services | on ed torial practice will also be dis- j cussed.
