MARKET COMPARISON WITH DOLLAR EFFECT OF IMPROVED FINANCES PARIS. May 30. The French franc to-day claimed a place among the strong currencies of the world. For the first time since World War Iltne iranc was as strong as the dollar in the Paris money market. The'black market dollar was quoted at 350 francs, compared with the free market omcial rate of 349.9. The French currency has been steadily convalescing, and then gathering strength for the last 16 months.
