GOVERNMENT LOAN

£763,650 SUBSCRIBED

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 30. The first progress report on the 1950 national development loan, which opened on Monday, was released by the Reserve Bank to-day. The report shows the total subscriptions up to noon to-day to be £763,650. Before the opening of the loan, advance subscriptions of £2.250,000 were received. The report adds that subscribers of £1,018.950 have already signified their intention of transferring to the loan.

An Auckland message says that the New Zealand Insurance Company, Ltd,, and the South British Insurance Company, Ltd., each intend to subscribe £250,000 to the loan.
