JUNIOR NATIONAL CUP SELECTORS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE DECISION The selectors of the team to represent Canterbury in the Junior National Cup were appointed too late in the year, said Mr R. Smith (Western) at a meeting of the management committee of the, Canterbury Football Association last evening. The club considered that as the selectors were appointed so late in the season they did not have a chance to see all the teams in action, and therefore the best representative team was not chosen. He moved that the selectors for the Junior National Cup team should be appointed at the first meeting of the management committee each year. This motion was carried. After a discussion on dangerous play and the warning of teams, it was decided to refer the matter to the Referees’ Association for a report. As the stand at English Park would not be completed by June 24, the date first set down for the North Island v. South Island match, the New Zealand Association had decided to postpone the match for another week if necessary, said Mr J. E. Jones (the president). It was decided to inform the association that the match would be held on July 1. DRAW FOR SATURDAY Senior, 3 p.m.—Nom v. Hine, Malv; West v. Var, Elm; Tech v. Sham, E.P. (1.15).
