HOUSE DESTROYED AT SOUTHBRIDGE

EARLY MORNING FIRE

During the week-end the residence of Mr R. Moriarty, a farmer at Miltown. about three miles from Southbridge, was destroyed by fire. The fife, which started in a lean-to woodshed, had a strong hold when it was discovered at 7 a.m., and Mr and Mrs Moriarty were able to save only a few articles of clothing. The Southbridge Volunteer Fire Brigade saved outhouses, haystacks, and trees, in spite of a strong north-west wind. The house was insured for £3OO. There was no cover on the contents.
