“SUNDAY TELEGRAPH" IN SYDNEY
PRICE INCREASED TO 6D (Rec. 10 p.m.) SYDNEY. May 28. The “Sunday Telegraph" announces that from next Sunday the price o' the newspaper will be/increased from 4d to 6d. “This increase is made with great reluctance." says the newspaper, “but is unavoidable. AU Sunday papers are losing money. In the last 12 months the ‘Sundav Telegraph’ has lost more than £50,000. and other Sunday papers more. Costs have risen in every direction. Wages, salaries und raw’ materials are responsible for making Sunday papers uneconomical at 4d.” The “Sunday Telegraph” claims a circulation of more ‘han 500.000 copies a week —the greatest sale in Australia.
