ATTEMPT TO END COLD WAR

SUGGESTION BY U.S. SENATOR (Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 26. Senator Kenneth Wherry proposed to-night that Mr Truman and Mr Stalin should exchange diplomatic Notes to clarify the positions of the United States and the Soviet Union in the cold war. Senator Wherry, who is the Republican leader in the Senate, said' “We should pursue everv honourable course for ending the cold war. “A public exchange of Notes between Mr Truman and Mr Stalin, setting forth the views of the respective countries, would serve to clarify the issues in a compact form for ail the world to see and judge.”
