HAIG IN PLACE OF BEATTY NO CHANGES MADE IN FORWARDS (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 28. The New Zealand team for the second test match at .Christchurch on June 10 was announced by the selectors, Messrs T. C. Morrison (Wellington), A. E. Marslin (Otago), and M. Corner (Auckland), today. It is as follows: Full-back: R. W. H. Scott (Auckland). Wing three-quarters: W. A. Meates (Otago) and either P. Henderson (Wanganui) or B. A. Sweet (Hawke’s Bay). Centre three-quarter: R. A. Roper (Taranaki). Five-eighths: R. R. Elvidge (Otago), captain, L. S. Haig (Otago). Half-back: V. D. Bevan (Wellington) or B. A. Walsh (Taranaki) Forwards.—Front rew: J. G. Simpson (Auckland), A. M. Henderson (Wairarapa). BRITISH TEAM TO PLAY AT TIMARU (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 28. The British Isles Rugby team to play South Canterbury at Timaru on Wednesday was announced to-night. It is:— Full-back, W. B. Cleaver; three-quar-ters, K. J. Jones, N. J. Henderson, I. Preece, R. Macdonald; half-backs, J. W. Kyle, W. R. Willis. Back row, P. W. Kininmonth (captain); middle row, W. G. Roberts, T. Clifford, J. E. Nelson, J. W. McKay; front row, G. M. Budge, D. M. Davies, J. D. Robins. Henderson will be making his first appearance since the game against the West Coast at Greymouth. He pulled a muscle in a leg at practice in Nelson and suffered a recurrence of the injury at Greymouth. Wednesday’s match is regarded as being in the nature of a test trial for him, as he is looked on as a candidate for the test team. Henderson, who belongs to a very keen badminton family in Belfast, played badminton with J. E. Robson, the New Zealand champion, to-day He said afterwards that Robson was much too good for him, but he thoroughly enjoyed the game. Both teams were entertained after the match on Saturday at a dinner as guests of the New Zealand Rugby Union. This afternoon they were entertained by residents of Otakou at a Maori kaik. Local people entertained the British players with Maori songs and hakas, and the visiting team reciprocated with four songs. The team will practice at Carisbrook on Monday afternoon and leave for Timaru on Tuesday. ASHBURTON-NORTH OTAGO TEAM The combined Ashburton-North Otago Rugby football team to play the British team at Ashburton on June 6 has been (selected as follows: Backs. —J. T.
