Animals Dealt with by S.P.C.A.—During the period from September 1. 1949, to April 30, 1950, animals were dealt with as follows by the Canterbury Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals:—B7 dogs and 35 cats were received as boarders at '.he society’s animals’ home. 254 stray dogs and 152 cats were placed in good homes, and 45 dogs were claimed by their owners. Ninety-seven private cases were attended to and 132 injured dogs were handled in the eight months. At the end of the period 60 dogs and 37 cats were in the home. In the eight months 14,020 miles were covered by the S.P.C.A. animals’ ambulance.
